President Droupadi Murmu has paid tribute to ex-servicemen on the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans Day. In a social media post, the President said the ex-servicemen’s unwavering courage continues to inspire every Indian.

 

She said Veterans’ Day and Armed Forces Flag Day provide opportunities not only to pay tribute to brave soldiers but also to extend meaningful support to them. President Murmu expressed confidence that the country’s veterans will continue to remain deeply committed to the cause of the nation.

 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid his gratitude to the veterans and serving personnel who devoted their lives to courage, honour and service for the nation. Mr Singh said their sacrifices borne with quiet resolve and unshakeable faith form the living shield of the nation’s borders, preserve the soul of the Republic and embody the enduring spirit of the country. The Defence Minister said that the nation’s commitment to the dignity, welfare and well-being of veterans, serving personnel and their families will remain absolute, unwavering and resolute.
