President attends an ‘At-Home’ reception on the eve of Vijay Diwas

On the eve of Vijay Diwas, the Indian Army today organised Vijay Diwas At Home at Army House in New Delhi. The event was attended by President Droupadi Murmu and featured a showcase of indigenously developed technologies and niche capabilities, reflecting the Indian Army’s steady transformation into a modern, innovative and self-reliant force.

The Ministry of Defence said the display of indigenous technologies reflected that Indian soldiers, engineers, start-ups and academic institutions are working together to develop solutions that strengthen national security. It added that the event underscored India’s expanding global defence engagement and the growing international confidence in the nation’s home-grown military technologies.

Every year on  16th December, Vijay Diwas is observed to commemorate India’s 1971 war victory over Pakistan, leading to Bangladesh’s liberation. On this day, the nation remembers the ultimate sacrifice of the bravehearts whose stories inspire every Indian and remain a source of national pride.
