Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi, launched a suite of digital initiatives on Tuesday aimed at modernizing warehousing operations, improving supply chain efficiency and enhancing transparency across the Public Distribution System (PDS). The initiative includes Bhandara 360 a cloud-based platform, Smart EXIM Warehouse, Anna Darpan an integrated cloud-based operations system, ASHA a holistic AI solution and a modern SILO facility at Malout, Gujarat.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Joshi said that such initiatives support the Government’s mission of reducing logistics costs and minimizing turnover time. He added that improved coordination between stakeholders will ensure that subsidized food grains reach the poorest households with greater accuracy, speed and dignity. Emphasizing on the role of technology, the Minister mentioned that the human behind the technology should also apply mind with emotions like compassion to drive effective and transparent service delivery to the poorest of the poor. During his address, he also noted that the PM Gati Shakti programme has synchronized different modes of transportation and laid the foundation for an integrated logistics ecosystem.
