New and Renewable Energy Minister Prahlad Joshi reiterated the importance of renewable energy to fulfil the vision of Viksit Bharat. Addressing a seminar on green energy ecosystem at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Mahesana, the Minister said country is witnessing an unprecedented energy transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, the total solar energy production in the country was just two Giga watt in 2014, but now the country produces 125 Giga watt energy from Solar energy. 

The Minister stressed on building India as a manufacturing hub to realize the dream of Viksit Bharat by 2047 and called energy as one of the fundamental components for manufacturing. Lauding Gujarat’s journey towards energy independence, the Minister highlighted that 23 gigawatt renewable energy capacity was added in the country during the five months with one third of the capacity was added in Gujarat alone. He said the state is rapidly progressing towards fulfilling the target of 100 Gigawatt Renewable Energy before 2030.
