Praggnanandhaa Advances to Fourth Round of FIDE World Cup 2025; Several Indians Head to Tie-Breaks

 
In the FIDE World Cup 2025, Praggnanandhaa R won his match against Hovhannisyan Robert and moved to fourth round. Diptayan Ghosh exited the tournament after losing to Gabriel Sargissian.
 
 
Arjun Erigaisi also went to Round 4 after drawing with Uzbekistan’s Shamsiddin Vokhidov. Pentala Harikrishna and Pranav V also went to Round 4 after their draws today. SL Narayanan played draw against China’s Yu Yangyi.
 
 
Vidit Gujrathi, and Karthik Venkataraman drew their respective matches. SL Narayanan, Vidit Gujrathi and Karthik Venkatraman have to play tie-breaks tomorrow. Meanwhile, Gukesh D, Pranesh M, must win to qualify directly. The top three finishers in Goa will book coveted spots in the 2026 Candidates Tournament.
