Police arrest two wanted Maoists belonging to banned CPI (Maoist) in Jharkhand

In Latehar district of Jharkhand, police arrested two wanted Maoists belonging to the banned organization Communist Party of India (Maoist). The arrested extremists include zonal commander Mrityunjay Bhuiya and sub-zonal commander Bablu Ram.

Police recovered an AK-47 rifle, 21 live cartridges and about 1.60 lakh rupees in cash from their possession. Superintendent of Police Kumar Gaurav said the arrests were made after a cordon-and-search operation based on specific intelligence in the Chhipadohar police station area. Mrityunjay Bhuiya carried a reward of 10 lakh rupees, while Bablu Ram had a reward of 2 lakh rupees on his head.
