PM-YUVA 3.0 Scheme selects 43 young Authors through All-India contest

The results of the Prime Minister’s Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors (PM-YUVA 3.0) have been declared, with 43 young authors selected through an All-India contest. The scheme is implemented by the National Book Trust, India, under the Ministry of Education and is aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 to encourage young writers to contribute to nation-building.

The selected authors, all below 30 years of age, have been chosen in 22 Indian languages and English, ensuring wide linguistic representation across the country. Of the 43 selected authors, 19 are women, and 24 are men. The scheme aims to promote inclusive literary development by encouraging writing in diverse Indian languages. The selected book proposals will be developed into books under a six-month mentorship of eminent scholars.

Each author will receive a scholarship of fifty thousand rupees per month and a lifetime royalty of 10 per cent on the published book. The themes for PM-YUVA 3.0 include the contribution of the Indian diaspora in nation-building, Indian Knowledge Systems, and Makers of Modern India (1950-2025).

A national camp of the selected authors will be organised during the New Delhi World Book Fair from 10th to 18th January next year. The first set of books under PM-YUVA 3.0 is expected to be published next year, with the objective of nurturing a new generation of writers and strengthening India’s literary ecosystem.
