Under the Central Government’s ambitious PM SHRI – PM Schools for Rising India scheme, 18 new schools have been approved in the border district of Kutch. These schools will become operational from the next academic session and will be developed as model institutions.
At present, 16 schools in the district are receiving grants from the Central Government, while the newly approved 18 schools will be supported by the Government of Gujarat. The aim is to develop at least two PM SHRI schools in every taluka.
In line with the National Education Policy, these schools will be equipped with smart classrooms, modern laboratories, digital libraries and sports facilities, with special emphasis on the holistic development of students.
District Education Officer Sanjay Parmar said the new schools will give a fresh direction and new momentum to the education system in the district.
