PM Narendra Modi to Visit Oman, Concluding Jordan & Ethiopia Tour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Oman tomorrow on the last leg of his three-nation tour after concluding his visit to Jordan and Ethiopia.

Mr Modi is visiting the friendly nation in the Gulf region on the invitation of the Head of State of the Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. Prime Minister Modi will be accompanied by a high-level delegation.

The visit is of great significance as it will be taking place when India and Oman are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.

“India shares a special partnership with the Sultanate of Oman, built on centuries-old contacts, and supported by trade linkages and people-to-people ties. In present times, the relationship has evolved into a strategic partnership characterised by robust cooperation in diverse areas of mutual interest.

In the backdrop of the earlier state visit of the Sultan of Oman to India in December last year, when both the leaders had together agreed on a future roadmap to deepen ties between the two countries, a number of documents that are expected to be signed during the Prime Minister’s visit are almost near finalisation.

During his two-day visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold a comprehensive review of the entire spectrum of the bilateral relations with the Sultan of Oman and also exchange perspectives on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

He is expected to address business leaders from both countries at a business forum and is also scheduled to address the Indian community here, which is eagerly waiting for his arrival.
