PM Modi to visit Assam on February 14

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on 14th February to inaugurate several projects. He is set to create a historic moment during his Assam visit as he will land and take off from the Northeast’s first highway-based emergency landing strip at Chabua on the Dibrugarh-Moran stretch at Dibrugarh district in the morning.

According to official sources, the Prime Minister will first arrive at the Chabua Air Force Base and then proceed to Moran, where he will land on the specially developed highway airstrip. Several fighter jets are also expected to land as part of the programme, while some will conduct fly-pasts. Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the newly constructed Kumar Bhaskarvarman Bridge over the Brahmaputra, connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati, before opening the temporary campus of the Indian Institute of Management, Guwahati, and the handing over of 100 Centre-funded electric buses to the State. The PM will also launch the hyperscale data centre at Amingaon. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address a meeting of BJP party functionaries in Guwahati.
