Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a day-long visit to Gujarat today. He will participate in ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ event and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over 34 thousand 200 crore rupees at Bhavnagar.
The Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion. The projects to be launched today cater to multiple sectors including maritime, LNG infrastructure, renewable energy, highways, healthcare and urban transport.
Akashvani correspondent reports, inauguration of Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock is one of the major projects to be launched today.
Among the Projects to be launched today, projects of the maritime sector alone are valued at over ₹7,800 crore.
This includes major projects like a new cruise terminal in Mumbai, new container facilities at key ports in Kolkata and Paradip, and a Green Bio-Methanol Plant at Deendayal Port, which are set to improve cargo movement and trade.
The new projects worth over ₹26,300 crore will be launched in Gujarat, which will include new energy plants like the LNG terminal at Chhara Port, and a major healthcare expansion at hospitals in Bhavnagar and Jamnagar and four-laning of 70 km of national highways.
Taking forward the government’s commitment to clean energy, the PM will virtually dedicate the fully solarised Dhordo village in Kutch.
During his visit, the PM will also visit the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal and will review its progress. He is also set to undertake an aerial survey of the massive Dholera industrial city.
All these initiatives are expected to bring major economic growth and create new opportunities across the state.
