Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh today to participate in the celebrations marking 25 years of the formation of the State. During his visit, Mr Modi will launch a series of developmental projects worth over 14,260 crore rupees and take part in several programmes.
The Prime Minister will begin his visit by interacting with around 2,500 children successfully treated for congenital heart diseases under the ‘Gift of Life’ programme at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar as part of the ‘Dil Ki Baat’ initiative. Later, he will inaugurate “Shanti Shikhar” of Brahma Kumaris, a modern centre for spiritual learning, peace, and meditation.
After that, Mr Modi will unveil the statue of Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the new building of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. He will also inaugurate the new assembly building and address the gathering on the occasion. Built on the Green Building concept, the structure is designed to operate on solar power and includes a rainwater harvesting system.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, which highlights the courage and patriotism of the state’s tribal communities. He will also launch the Museum Portal and e-book Aadi Shourya and unveil a horse-mounted statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh.
Prime Minister Modi will then participate in the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, celebrating 25 years of the state’s formation, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple developmental and transformative projects worth over 14,260 crore rupees across across key sectors including roads, industry, healthcare, and energy.
In a bid to strengthen rural livelihoods, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme blocks across nine districts. He will also participate in the Griha Pravesh of 3.51 lakh completed houses and release 1,200 crore rupees as installment to three lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
To enhance connectivity, Mr Modi will lay the foundation stone for a four-lane Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon-Kunkuri to the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border, developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana at a cost of 3,150 crore rupees. In the power sector, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Inter-Regional ER-WR Interconnection Project to increase power transfer capacity between the Eastern and Western grids by 1,600 megawatt.
He will also dedicate and lay the foundation for energy sector projects worth over 3,750 crore rupees. Further, Mr Modi will inaugurate HPCL’s new Petroleum Oil Depot at Raipur, and dedicate the 489 km Nagpur-Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline. The pipeline will connect 11 districts of Chhattisgarh to the National Gas Grid, promoting cleaner fuel use and industrial development.
Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for two Smart Industrial Areas in Janjgir-Champa and Rajnandgaon, along with a Pharmaceutical Park at Nava Raipur’s Sector 22. The visit will conclude with the foundation laying for five new Government Medical Colleges across the state and a Government Ayurveda College and Hospital at Bilaspur, further expanding medical education and healthcare access in Chhattisgarh.<><><>
