Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the 16-day nationwide health camp Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan along with the 8th Poshan Maah on Wednesday. Under this initiative, more than one lakh health camps will be organised, making this the largest ever health outreach for women and children in the country.
The initiative is jointly led by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD).
The campaign will go on till 2nd of the next month, which includes health check-ups and screening camps for non-communicable diseases such as cancers, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.
The campaign will mobilise communities towards healthy lifestyle practices with a special emphasis on obesity prevention, improved nutrition, and voluntary blood donation. It will be organised at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health centres, district hospitals and other government health facilities across the country.
