PM Modi to launch PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses on Saturday in New Delhi. Briefing media in New Delhi today, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, the country is self reliant in wheat and rice production but now, the country will also become self reliant in pulses. He stressed that the area under pulses cultivation will be increased in the country. The Minister said that the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, aims to increase farmers’ income and strengthen the agricultural sector, while the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana scheme is aimed to enhance productivity, promote crop diversification, improve irrigation and storage. 
Mr. Chouhan said that the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for over two thousand 100 projects related to Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and food processing sectors. These schemes, with a layout of over 42 thousand crore rupees, will usher in a new era of prosperity and well-being for millions of farmers across the country. He said, Prime Minister Modi will also felicitate farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations, cooperatives, and technological innovators who have made outstanding contributions in the agricultural sector during the event.
The Minister said that under the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, 100 low-productivity districts in the country will be comprehensively developed. The scheme aims to provide irrigation facilities to every farm, promote crop diversification, and provide easy credit and storage facilities to farmers.
