PM Modi Stresses Citizen-Centric Governance at Sadhana Saptah 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today emphasised that India’s rapidly changing aspirations demand a governance model that is not only efficient but deeply citizen-centric. He said this in a video message while addressing the Karmayogi Sadhana Sapta 2026. He said that governance today is guided by the mantra ‘Nagrik Devo Bhava’, with a clear focus on making public service more capable, sensitive, and citizen-centric.
 
Mr Modi noted that the Capacity Building Commission and Mission Karmayogi are key to creating a modern, dedicated, and responsive workforce aligned with the aspirations of every Indian. He added that a developed India will be built not just on infrastructure and technology, but on a skilled and committed human resource. The Prime Minister highlighted that improving Ease of living and quality of life should be the primary focus of governance.
 
Further, the Prime Minister underlined that the strength of a nation lies in the capability of its institutions, and strengthening that capability is the government’s top priority. He added that the government aims to build a responsive, modern, and accountable public service that empowers every citizen. Mr Modi said that every Indian citizen today carries aspirations, and it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that governance becomes a facilitator of those dreams. 
 
Starting from today, the Capacity Building Commission will observe  Sadhana Saptah 2026 till the 8th of this month.  It also coincides with the Commission’s Foundation Day and five years of Mission Karmayogi. The week-long programme will bring together Central Ministries, States, Union Territories, and over 250 Civil Services Training Institutions for collaborative capacity building.
