Prime Minister Modi gives nine mantras to make India self-reliant

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought citizens’ commitment to nine resolutions dedicated to the national cause. Addressing the devotees of Sri Krishna Mutt in Udupi today, he sought the support of seers, devotees and citizens to conserve water and our rivers, be part of Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, uplift at least one poor person from poverty and encourage the Swadeshi movement for safeguarding our Economy and our entrepreneurs.

 

He also called upon the countrymen to encourage natural farming, lead a healthy lifestyle using Millets, reduce oil usage and adopt Yoga as part of our daily life. Among the nine resolutions mentioned by the Prime Minister today, the conservation of our ancient manuscripts was one of them.

 

He said our ancient knowledge should be passed on to the next generation. He also called upon Indians to visit 25 places known for their heritage and traditions. The Prime Minister pointed out that the Bhagavad Gita, which is the teachings of Lord Krishna, is an inspiration to most of the programmes of the Central Government.

 

May it be Sarvejana Sukhino Bhavantu, Vasudaiva Kutumbakam or Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitaha have motivated Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas, Nari Shakti Abhiyan, Solar alliance mission or Mission Sudarshana Chakra national security programme.

 

He noted that the Bhagavad Gita speaks of peace and also our resolve to ensure peace. Hence, he said that the Government is working in this direction. During his visit to Sri Krishna Mutt in Udupi today he was part of a group recitation of the Bhagawat Geetha, known as Gita Parayana.

 

 

He inaugurated the gold-plated Tirtha Mantapa and dedicated gold gold-plated Kanaka Kindi, a sacred window that lord Krishna is believed to have opened for his devotee saint Kanakadasa. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, Dharmastala Dharmadhikari Sri Veerendra Heggade and Udupi Putthige Mutt seer Sugunendra Teertha swamiji, among others, were present on this occasion. The Puttige Seer gave the title of Bharata Bhagya Vidhata to the Prime Minister on this occasion.
