In today’s episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Tripura for its successful community-driven initiatives in water conservation and sustainable development. He highlighted Vanghmun village in the Jampui Hills, located at an altitude of around 3,000 feet. Once facing severe water scarcity, especially during summer, the village has transformed through widespread adoption of rooftop rainwater harvesting systems. 

 

The then BDO, Asit Kumar Das, now ADM, said in an exclusive interview today that awareness and active participation of nearly 300 families played a key role in overcoming the crisis. He added that being mentioned in Mann ki Baat is a moment of pride.
