PM Modi, HM Amit Shah pay tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray on birth centenary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray on his birth centenary. In a social media post, Mr Modi said that Mr Thackeray was a towering figure who profoundly shaped Maharashtra’s socio-political landscape.

 

The Prime Minister added that he was known for his sharp intellect, powerful oratory and uncompromising convictions, and commanded a unique connection with the people. Prime Minister Modi also underlined that Balasaheb was deeply passionate about culture, literature and journalism. Mr Modi noted that his career as a cartoonist reflected his keen observation of society and his fearless commentary on various issues. 

 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, he said that Balasaheb Thackeray dedicated his entire life to the protection of the nation, religion, and self-respect, and never compromised on his principles under any circumstances. Mr Shah added that Balasaheb Thackeray will always remain dear to nationalists not only in Maharashtra but across the entire country.
