Maharishi Valmiki’s Teachings Will Continue to Illuminate Generations: PM Modi

 

Valmiki Jayanti is being celebrated in different parts of the country today. The day marks the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki, the author of Ramayana. Maharishi Valmiki is also revered as the ‘Adi Kavi’ or first poet of the Sanskrit language. Members of the Valmiki sect also revere him as a messenger of God and celebrate Pargat Diwas with great devotion. The processions called Shobha Yatra is also taken out to mark the occasion.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings to the citizens of the country on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. In a social media post, the Prime Minister said that the pure and ideal thoughts of Maharishi Valmiki have had a profound impact on Indian society and families since ancient times. Mr Modi added that Maharishi Valmiki’s conceptual beacon, which is based on social harmony, will continue to illuminate the lives of citizens forever.

 

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah greeted the citizens on the birth anniversary of Adikavi Maharishi Valmiki. In a social media post, Mr Shah said that by encapsulating the life philosophy of Lord Shri Ram in the ‘Ramayana’, Maharishi Valmiki conveyed the message of humanity, propriety, and righteousness to people of all walks of life. The Minister added that the sacred text ‘Ramayana’ will continue to guide human society through every situation in life for eternity.
