Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India’s fight against tuberculosis (TB) is witnessing remarkable progress. Sharing an article by Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on key insights from the recently concluded 100-day Intensified TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the Prime Minister stated that the campaign has laid a strong foundation for a TB-free India.

In his article on World Tuberculosis (TB) Day yesterday, Mr Nadda expressed immense pride in how India is redefining its approach to eliminating TB. He highlighted that the 100-day Intensified TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan has not only demonstrated the power of innovation but also underscored the importance of community mobilization in combating the disease.

Mr Nadda emphasized that by accelerating case detection, reducing mortality, and preventing new infections, the campaign has significantly strengthened India’s fight against TB. He asserted that India is not just fighting TB but actively working to defeat it.
