Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserts, GST Bachat Utsav energized demand, production, and jobs during Diwali festival

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that GST Bachat Utsav has energized demand, production and jobs during the Diwali festival resulting in boosting economy. He said, the festive season has been enriched by the GST Bachat Utsav, registering record breaking sales during this festive season. The Prime Minister said this while addressing the 17th National Rozgar Mela virtually from New Delhi today. 
Highlighting the recent reforms in GST, the Prime Minister said, the impact of these reforms goes beyond consumer savings, as next-generation GST reforms are also expanding employment opportunities. He noted the positive impact of these reforms on the MSME sector and retail trade, which are now generating new employment opportunities in manufacturing, logistics, packaging, and distribution.
  He underlined that the appointments made today are not merely government jobs but opportunities to actively contribute to nation-building. Highlighting the enthusiasm, capacity for hard work, and the self-confidence born from fulfilled dreams among the newly appointed youth, Mr  Modi remarked that when this spirit is combined with a passion to serve the nation, their success transcends personal achievement and becomes a triumph for the country. He expressed confidence that the appointees will work with integrity and sincerity, and play a vital role in creating better systems for the India of the future.
Mr Modi underscored that for the past 11 years, the country has been moving forward with the resolve to build a Viksit Bharat, and the youth have played the most significant role in this. He also asserted that empowering youth is a priority of the BJP-NDA government. Mr Modi underlined that campaigns like the Steel India Mission, provide skill training to the the youth, while initiatives such as the National Career Service platform are connecting them with new opportunities. He added that through this platform alone, information of  more than 7 crore vacancies has already been shared with the youth. Mr Modi also highighted Pratibha Setu portal as another major step for the youth.
         Prime Minister Modi also said that the government considers the strength of India’s youth as the greatest power of the nation. He also asserted that India’s foreign policy is being shaped keeping the country’s youth in mind. The Prime Minister stressed that India’s diplomatic talks and global MoUs also include provisions for youth training, upskilling, and employment generation.
During the event, appointment letters to more than 51 thousand to newly recruited youth in various Government departments and organisations are being distributed under the Rozgar Mela initiative. Mr Modi said, through these employment fairs alone, more than 11 lakh appointment letters have been given to young people in the past some time. The Prime Minister also launched the ‘Viksit Bharat Yojana’ in the country, which aims to provide jobs to 3.5 crore youth. More than 11 lakh such letters have been issued since the initiative began in October 2022.
