Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the nation on the occasion of Samvatsari, emphasising the timeless values of forgiveness, compassion, and sincere human connection. In a social media post, Mr Modi said Samvatsari inspires people to nurture bonds with sincerity. He hoped that the occasion would fill everyone’s hearts with humility and actions would reflect kindness as well as goodwill. 

Samvatsari is a day of reflection, atonement, and reconciliation within the Jain community. This festival is celebrated on the last day of Parva Paryushana, which is the holiest festival forthe  Shwetambara sect of Jainism.
