Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief at the passing away of popular film actor Govardhan Asrani.

In a social media post, Mr Modi said, ‘A gifted entertainer and a truly versatile artist, Govardhan Asrani entertained audiences across generations.’ The Prime Minister said he particularly added joy and laughter to countless lives through his unforgettable performances.

Mr Modi said his contribution to Indian cinema will always be cherished. He expressed condolences to the family and admirers of Govardhan Asrani.
