PM Modi chairs India-EU Business Forum along with President of European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the India-EU Business Forum along with President of European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in Delhi this afternoon. The Forum brought together business leaders from both sides. External Affairs Ministry said that the discussions reflected the depth of the India-EU economic partnership, covering key sectors including trade and investment, manufacturing, digital and emerging technologies, clean energy and green transition, mobility and skills, startups and innovation, infrastructure, and resilient supply chains. Following the conclusion of negotiations on the historic India-EU FTA, the Forum is set to impart fresh momentum to business-to-business ties, enabling India and the EU to deepen cooperation, unlock new opportunities, create jobs and grow together.

Speaking at the Forum, Prime Minister Modi said Indian investment in the EU has reached almost 40 billion euros. He pointed out that there is deep cooperation between India and European companies in every sector, including R&D, manufacturing, and services. Mr Modi highlighted that the FTA concluded today will provide easy access to the European Union market for India’s labour-intensive products.
