Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 45th Anniversary Celebrations of The Art of Living in Bengaluru this morning. He also inaugurated the newly constructed Dhyan Mandir at the Art of Living International Centre. Addressing the gathering the Prime Minister lauded the role of the Art of Living Foundation in promoting service, spirituality and social transformation. He also called for collective efforts to build a developed India through environmental responsibility, youth empowerment and inner well-being. Mr Modi also emphasised that societal participation was more powerful than political systems and was essential for nation-building.
The Prime Minister said that support of spiritual centres such as the Art of Living foundation can help the farmers and rural communities in encouraging natural farming and discourage the use of chemical fertilisers that are harming our mother Earth. He said they can play an active role in promoting per drop more crop initiatives, help conserve water, create awareness about saving power and discourage use of single use plastics. They can also encourage desi products and promote a lifestyle that is harmonious with nature. The Prime Minister noted that Yoga, meditation, pranayam are part of our spiritual heritage that can empower our youth to make valuable contributions towards the progress of our country. Speaking about the Viksit Bharat goal, the Prime Minister said it can be a reality when the society realises its responsibilities towards national goals and becomes proactive to realise them.
