Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader Narendra Modi interacted with the party workers of Assam under ‘Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot Samvaad’ program this afternoon. The interaction aims to energize grassroots workers ahead of the upcoming Assam Assembly elections with a focus on highlighting the state’s development. Addressing the Party workers, the Prime Minister highlighted Assam’s transformation over the past decade, stating that rapid progress across sectors reflects the success of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s “double-engine” model.
He expressed confidence that the people of the state are ready to continue this development journey by supporting the alliance for another five years. Emphasizing the importance of strong booth-level organization, Mr Modi underlined the crucial role of party workers in ensuring effective outreach and public engagement during the elections. Mr Modi said, the mood in Assam is clear and the people of the state are set to vote for the NDA. During the interaction, Mr Modi urged the party workers to work day and night to ensure the record win of the party.
Highlighting achievements of the BJP government, the Prime Minister said over the past ten years, Assam has become free from insurgency bringing peace and new opportunities for the state. He accused the Congress of failing to maintain law and order during its tenure, which he said led to the loss of many young lives. Referring to developments witnessed in the state following the Bodo Peace Accord, Mr Modi noted that many youths in the region have chosen the path of progress over conflict, with improved stability opening avenues in education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Prime Minister Modi further stated that the BJP government has taken steps to curb the inflow of illegal immigrants into Assam and affirmed that efforts will continue to address the issue. The Prime Minister also highlighted initiatives undertaken by the NDA government to improve the lives of tea garden workers in Assam, including financial assistance, better access to healthcare, housing, and education, as well as the provision of land pattas to tea garden communities. Polling in Assam will be held in a single-phase on 9th of April.
