Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today inaugurated the MP Krida Mahotsav for divyang children at Borivali in North Mumbai. Calling it an inspiring and outstanding sports festival, Mr. Goyal appreciated the efforts of coaches, competitors, parents and organisers.
More than 450 competitors, 900 parents, and 200 volunteers participated enthusiastically in events such as the 50m run, 100m run, shot put, long jump, powerlifting, and cricket.
Mr. Goyal encouraged the participants, stating that in sports, there is no losing – there is only winning or learning. He expressed confidence that differently-abled youth from North Mumbai will represent India in future international competitions. He stressed upon the need for enhanced training, coaching facilities, and well-planned strategies for sports skill development.
