Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan today called Fake news and misinformation a social evil. Launching a National Media Campaign Karmayoga in Actrion program for media personnel in New Delhi, Mr Murugun stressed the need to control fake news and authenticate the news before forwarding it. The Minister said that people are trusting Akashvani and Doordarshan for authentic news. He further stated that the media and entertainment sector is the fastest growing economy and generating employement at large scale. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government has initiated several initiatives for the media and entertainment sector.
