The Patna High Court has issued notices to 28 Members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and sought their responses in connection with petitions alleging electoral irregularities and alleged discrepancies in their election affidavits during the recently concluded Assembly elections. A total of 40 petitions were filed against these MLAs.

 

The notices were issued after preliminary hearings conducted on different dates by benches headed by Justice Shashi Bhushan Prasad Singh and Justice Ashok Kumar Pandey.  A petition has been filed in this matter against Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar and Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav.
