Parliamentary Standing Committee concludes Kargil visit, CEC Raises Developmental Concerns

In Ladakh, the two-day study visit of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs to Kargil concluded today. During the visit, committee members paid tribute to the martyrs at the Drass War Memorial and also visited the historic Hunderman Border Village to understand the region’s heritage and strategic significance.
 
 
A cultural programme was organised at the Tourist Facilitation Centre, highlighting the rich traditions and cultural diversity of Kargil and Ladakh. The visiting members were welcomed and honoured with traditional mementos.
 
 
Meanwhile, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, met the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee, Dr Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, and raised key developmental issues concerning the district.
 
 
Dr Akhoon stressed the need for improved connectivity, better healthcare and educational facilities, and stronger infrastructure in the region. The Committee Chairman assured that the concerns would be taken up with the concerned ministries for appropriate action.
