Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju says introduction of Bills in Parliament guided by necessity and prevailing circumstances

Senior BJP leader and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju today said that the introduction of Bills in Parliament is guided by necessity and prevailing circumstances and should not be viewed through a political lens. Talking to the media outside the Parliament House Complex, Mr Rijiju informed that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill was brought forward due to its urgency. He explained that there was a need to grant Amaravati the status of a Capital, for which the passing of an Amendment bill in Parliament was essential. Mr Rijiju also criticised the opposition, alleging that they are trying to distract people and deflect attention from the facts. He asserted that the government functions strictly according to established rules and introduces legislation based on requirements, unlike what he described as the opposition’s tendency to act otherwise.
