A leading human rights organisation has raised an alarm over the enforced disappearance of two Baloch civilians today, as violence targeting civilians continues persistently across Pakistan’s Balochistan. According to Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ), both civilians Munib Baloch and Mughfar Abid were taken from Kharan city yesterday. The rights body said the incident showcases a clear pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and demanded immediate disclosure of the whereabouts of two Baloch civilians.
On the 14th of this month, another human rights organisation, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), said that at least 18 Baloch people were forcibly disappeared in raids conducted by Pakistani armed forces over the past two weeks in Balochistan.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee demands the immediate and safe release of all forcibly disappeared individuals and calls upon national and international human rights organisations, the United Nations, and the international community to take urgent notice and ensure accountability.
