In Pakistan, at least six people, including four children, have been killed and many others injured in a bomb attack on a school bus in Khuzdar town in Balochistan region today. The bus driver and his assistant also lost their lives in the attack. The bus was headed to a military-run school at the time of the attack. Local media reported that the bus was carrying around 40 schoolchildren when it exploded just outside the remote town of Khuzdar. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
Balochistan has long been the site of tensions, with residents accusing the Pakistani government of discrimination and exploitation. Bordering Afghanistan and Iran, the province has experienced separatist movements for decades. The security situation has deteriorated further this year, following the formation of a unified armed front by several Baloch separatist groups.
