A Pakistani citizen residing in Canada has been extradited to the US to face terrorism-related charges, federal authorities announced.
US officials allege that Muhammad Shahzeb Khan intended to cross the border from Canada to New York and carry out a mass shooting at a Jewish facility on the 7th of October, 2024, to coincide with the first anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.
In a post on social media platform X, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed Khan’s extradition and commended the cross-border intelligence sharing that led to the prevention of the planned attack.
Khan is now in US custody and is expected to face trial in a federal court in New York.
