Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal has said that more than 90 lakh houses have been allotted to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Replying to supplementaries during the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha today, Manohar Lal said, the scheme was launched in 2015 and a total of one crore 12 lakh houses have been sanctioned across the country. He informed the House that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, an Affordable Rental Housing has been introduced for urban migrants and industrial workers at an affordable rate.
