The Election Commission today said, more than 50 crore 96 lakh enumeration forms have been distributed among electors since the launch of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase-2. It is 99.98 per cent of nearly 51 crore electors that will be covered in this phase.
The commission said that more than 50 crore forms have been digitised so far. It said that the last date for submitting enumeration forms is still the 11th of this month, except for Kerala, which is 18th December. The second phase of the SIR of electoral rolls commenced on 4th November in nine States and three Union territories(UT).
The states and UTs are Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The large-scale revision of the electoral rolls will conclude with the publication of the final voter list on 14th February next year.
