In Jammu and Kashmir, a total of 40 thousand 661 posts are currently lying vacant in various Government departments across J&K, Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD), M Raju said. The vacancies include 3 thousand 808 gazetted posts, 24 thousand 507 non-gazetted posts, and 12 thousand 351 multi-tasking staff (MTS) posts. The information was shared during a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo in Jammu. The meeting assessed the progress of recruitments being carried out by the J&K Public Service Commission and the Services Selection Board. The Health and Medical Education Department has the highest number of vacancies among all departments. The Chief Secretary directed officials to speed up the recruitment process and ensure faster filling of vacancies across various departments.
