Over 32,000 beneficiaries have been trained under SwaYaan project for capacity building in Unmanned Aircraft Systems: Government 

The government has said that more than 32 thousand beneficiaries have been trained under the SwaYaan project for capacity building in Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today. He said India has taken several steps to promote the drone industry and to make the country a global drone hub. Mr Prasada said that the government has launched several training initiatives to build a skilled drone workforce. These initiatives include Remote Pilot Training Organization, Namo drone Didi Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 and SwaYaan – Capacity Building for Human Resource Development in Unmanned Aircraft Systems. He said, currently, there are 251 authorized Remote Pilot Training Organizations in the country, and they have collectively trained more than 42 thousand remote Pilots.
