In Maharashtra, more than 2,000 Gauri and Ganesha idols were immersed in Mumbai today amid chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya.” According to official sources no untoward incident was reported during the immersion. Around 70 natural sites and around 290 artificial ponds have been readied for idol immersion. The state administration has taken various measures to ensure that the process of immersion or visarjan is carried out smoothly.
