The Union Labour Ministry has reported that 16 lakh 33 thousand new workers have been enrolled under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Scheme in March this year. According to the Ministry, of the total enrollees, approximately 7.96 lakh employees fall within the age group of up to 25 years.

As per the provisional payroll data released by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation also revealed that over 31 thousand new establishments have been brought under the social security coverage of the ESI Scheme during the month of March.
