In Jammu and Kashmir, an unidentified terrorist has been killed in an ongoing anti terrorist operation in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district last night.
An Army spokesperson said that a joint operation was launched by the Army and J&K Police on the basis of specific input about the presence of terrorists in the Arahama area of Ganderbal.
The Spokesperson said, as the alert troops reached the suspected spot during the cordon and search operation, the hiding terrorists resorted to indiscriminate firing, ensuing in a fierce encounter between the security forces and the terrorists.
The spokesperson further said, during last night the cordon was tactically reorganised amidst the intermittent firing underway.
The calibrated response of the security forces resulted in the elimination of one unidentified terrorist. There are no reports of any casualties from the security forces’ side. The operation is in progress.
