Odisha Government has stepped up preparedness measures to tackle any eventuality arising from severe cyclonic storm ‘Montha’. A large number of teams of fire services, Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in the southern and coastal districts of Odisha which are likely to be affected due to heavy rains under the impact of the severe cyclonic storm.

 

 

The state government is also ensuring power restoration, medical supply distribution, anti-venom availability, and waterlogging management in the affected areas. People living in low lying areas are being shifted to cyclone shelter centres and the state government plans to shift 35,612 people to those centres by tomorrow morning.
