The Odisha government has put all district administrations and its departments on high alert in view of the expected cyclonic storm over Bay of Bengal by 27th of this month. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari in Bhubaneswar said that enough relief materials have been arranged and all district collectors have been kept on high alert. As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) prediction, the low-pressure area, formed over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, is likely to move west-north-westwards and intensify into a depression over southeast and adjoining central Bay of Bengal by tomorrow. The system is likely to intensify further into a deep depression by this Sunday and into a cyclonic storm over southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal by Monday. The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha for at least three days starting from 27th of this month.
