Chief Minister of Odisha Mohan Charan Majhi is on a two-day visit to New Delhi from today. Mr Majhi’s visit to the national capital comes just a day before the Vice-Presidential election, scheduled to be held tomorrow. During his stay, the Odisha Chief Minister is expected to hold discussions with BJP MPs from the state and engage in other key political deliberations.
BJP’s Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal has also been in New Delhi since yesterday, indicating a series of party-level discussions ahead of the crucial election. BJP has 20 Lok Sabha and 3 Rajya Sabha members, BJD has 7 Rajya Sabha members, and Congress has only one Lok Sabha member from Odisha.
