NTA extends support to Rajasthan SOG probe into alleged NEET (UG) 2026 irregularities

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is supporting the investigation initiated by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group regarding the alleged irregularities linked to the NEET (UG) 2026 examination. NTA is also providing all examination-related data and technical assistance required to the investigating agencies in this matter.

In a statement, the NTA said, the examination was conducted under a full security protocol on the third of this month. It informed that question papers were transported in GPS-tracked vehicles bearing unique, traceable watermark identifiers. The agency added that examination halls operated under AI-assisted CCTV monitoring from a central control room, with biometric verification of every candidate and 5G jammers in operation.

NTA received inputs concerning alleged malpractice activity around the examination on the seventh of this month. NTA escalated these inputs to central agencies for independent verification and necessary action. NTA said that the action subsequently undertaken by the law enforcement agencies, including the detentions reported in the media over recent days, is the result of their professional and timely work. NTA said that the matter is presently under investigation and the facts will be established by the agencies in due course.

The NTA has assured the effort and integrity of the very large majority of bona-fide aspirants will not be devalued and urged the candidates to allow the agencies the space to complete their work. The agency also said that it is committed to fair, secure, and credible examinations.
