The National School of Drama (NSD) announced the Mumbai schedule of the 25th Bharat Rang Mahotsav (BRM), billed as the world’s largest international theatre festival. The Mumbai leg of the festival will be held from February 9 to 13, 2026, at Prabodhankar Thackeray Auditorium, in collaboration with the Maharashtra government’s Department of Cultural Affairs and the P. L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy.
Themed ‘Samvad Sanskritiyon Ka’ (Dialogue of Cultures), BRM 2026 in Mumbai will present a curated selection of nationally and internationally acclaimed productions drawn from award-winning literature and celebrated theatrical works. The programme spans a wide range of genres, from comedy to tragedy, realism to farce, and includes popular Indian folk forms such as Nautanki.
BRM 2026 is a 25-day festival to be held from January 27 to February 20, featuring over 277 productions across 228 Indian and international languages, including several under-represented linguistic traditions. Theatre groups from nine countries and from every Indian state and Union Territory will participate, reflecting the diversity of Indian and global theatre.
