No Alternative to Nature, Says Union Minister Bhupender Yadav; Calls for Balanced Development

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav has said that humans can develop everything, but they cannot create an alternative to nature. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the conservation of nature along with its exploitation. Mr. Yadav was addressing the inaugural session of the National Workshop on Desertification and Drought Combating Strategies in Jodhpur today. He said that the temperature of the earth is increasing due to excessive exploitation of nature for development, which is why we have to take care of the environment in whatever we have to produce for agriculture, factories and industrial development. He said that while saving natural resources like rivers, mountains, and oceans, we have to move forward on the path of development with balance.

The Union Minister said that the use of fertilisers and pesticides will also have to be reduced to save the Earth. He said that if attention is not paid to nature conservation and climate change on time, then the food chain of humans will also be affected in future. Referring to the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, he appealed that the public should participate in this campaign to the maximum. Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that in western Rajasthan, education on environmental conservation is given from generation to generation. He said that the balance of nature has to be maintained with science. He said that personal responsibility will have to be taken for environmental conservation.
