NITI Aayog Releases Two Reports on India’s Services Sector in New Delhi

NITI Aayog today released two reports on India’s Services Sector in New Delhi. Addressing the launch event, NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam emphasised that the services sector has long remained under-recognised in policy circles despite being a key driver of India’s economy.

Talking about the two reports, Mr Subramanyam said that the first report, titled India’s Service Sector: Insights from GVA trends and state-level dynamics, gives a detailed analysis of the contribution of various sub-categories of services in the economy at the national and state level.

The second report, India’s Service Sector: Insights from employment trends and state-level dynamics, focuses on employment across sub-sectors, gender, regions, education, and occupations in all the states. NITI Aayog, in a statement, said that these reports provide an indicative pathway, setting out potential strategies for State Governments and industry to unlock the next wave of services-led growth.
