NITI Aayog releases report to boost Sports Equipment exports

NITI Aayog today released the report on Realising the Export Potential of India’s Sports Equipment Manufacturing Sector in New Delhi, which is aimed at positioning India as a global sports manufacturing hub. 
 
The report focuses on leveraging MSMEs, enhancing Research and Development and addressing quality standards to boost export competitiveness.  During the event, Vice Chairman of Niti Aayog Suman Berry highlighted the need to strengthen competitiveness and export orientation in the country’s industrial sectors, particularly among MSMEs.  He stressed that greater collaboration between policymakers, industry stakeholders, and innovators will be crucial in building a stronger and more globally integrated manufacturing ecosystem in the country.
 
Speaking on the occasion, CEO of Niti Aayog Nidhi Chhibber noted that while India has strong capabilities in certain segments of sports equipment manufacturing, there is a need to further strengthen capacities in other areas.
