NITI Aayog convened a consultative meeting with State Maritime Boards, port operators and Central Ministries in New Delhi yesterday.
In a social media post, NITI Aayog informed that the meeting deliberated on the key issues and challenges faced by Non-Major Ports, and explored policy and institutional reforms to strengthen their role in the nation’s port-led development framework. It added that the discussions focused on the strategic role of infrastructure development and multimodal connectivity, improving operational efficiency through digitalisation and advancing regulation. The discussion also included investment and governance reforms essential for enhancing the performance and competitiveness of non-major ports.
The discussion highlighted the exchange of perspectives from various stakeholders, which provided valuable insights for shaping future policy interventions and strengthening Centre-State collaboration in the maritime sector.
